Aufträge (Orders)

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Well, I really didn't plan to take orders, but now I already have three.
Number one: a raven black Revontuli for the daughter of the social worker of the ward. I made it until today to row 70 and it looks really classy. About the yarn I can not tell anything apart from it's a wool-acrylic yarn and I use my 6.5 mm needles. In a few more rows I already have knitted two balls into it.

Number two: a Feather and Fan Scarf in Berry & Fuchsia for Mrs Fink. She is a patient since long time on the ward and she likes to sit near me when I'm knitting. She told me it always calmed her when her grandmother was knitting and so it today also does. The yarn is 100% Merino and I got it from Mrs Huppertz.

Number three: a Neckerchief for Chris. He saw some of my shawls and decided shortly I have to knit him something warming & cosy for his neck. I've choosen the Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West and my rest (58 g) of Artyarn by Evilla.

But I also have something to show off:
I made the stole DonnaRocco by birgit Freyer. The yarn was my Artyarn by Evilla.

Her last Mystery, the triangular shawl MysticGlance, I finished two days back and blocked it already. The moebius Wave of Colour I finished somewhere by the beginning of this year, but I just blocked it along with the MG.

And I could finish the first out of 5 small shawls for the 'Sternenkinderaktion'. Birgit provided yarn & pattern for this project.

Also I decided to take part at the competition of Verena Stricken and Filatura di Crosa and made a design for a Autumn-Shawl. All I now have to do is to draw the charts, test knit them and order the yarn. It'll be a special dyed yarn by Mrs Huppertz. And the shawl will be there at the Raveler Meeting in Backnang.

PS: I went to the Flachsmarkt in Krefeld today. There I tried spinning yarn and bought a glas of honey and a wonderful ball of blue Merino yarn.

Der Igel (The Hedgehog)

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Actually I'm in hospital. (Since 5 weeks) But today I went home to do 'a bit' of housework.
Well, it was just a bit. The neighbourkids found a hurt hedgehog. Nobody in my neighbourhood dared to touch it or get it to the vet. So I did. One look to the website of the animal shelter of Aachen to get its phone number. Of course it was closed today. But I got the phone number of the animal protection agent (hope it's the right phrase) and she told me to bring the cute hedghog to the vet.
At the Vet'she got an anaesthesia and they had a look to it. It turned out another pet (a dog maybe) hurt him and he lost one eye and parts of his face. The wound must have been about three days old and she told me best for the lil hedgehog would be to put it down peacefully. And so I agreed.
