Frühstücksstricken

Friday, May 1, 2009

There is nothing better as being absolutely undisturbed knitting a not that easy pattern. Therefore I also on a holiday get up a little earlier. Well, now it's already 8:36 am, but I like to have loads of time to start into the day instead of under the common conditions (wake the kid, make breakfast, bring the kid to the (school) bus...)
It's most idyllic and I am going to enjoy my english breakfast tea, the black chocolate ball and my audiobook while knitting totally relaxed clue 2 of Mia Bella, because the short one will not wake up before 10 am.

Kind regards and a relaxed start into the day from Katja

Finished my Mysterious Lady

Friday, April 3, 2009

I know, my picture is not the best - I actually don't have a real camera and just tried it with my mobile phone using its self-timer.
I finished the Lady already 2 weeks ago, showed it off, before blocking it, to my mother & sister who came to visit the h & h in cologne. The h & h was very interesting - my sis managed to get me a card - I visited first of all the hand spinning guild where I got some spinning lessons on the drop spindle and the spinning wheel as well. I also visited the Ashford stand where I tried two of their wheels out and my son learned to card the wool (which he really liked a lot)

Now I'm working on Thien's housesocks, a shawl for my sister, a crocheted teddy bear for a friend ...
Very soon my friend Anja and I will start knitting our first Revontulis as our personal knitalong.

so that's all for now - have to finish the house socks and the swatch to the new mystery at Knitting-Delight.

The unrevealed Mystery

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

I have been knitting quite a lot during the last weeks - last week I didn't knit that much but last night I managed to finish the right side of my Mysterious Lady. I's looking awesome! But take a look yourself.

Since the Lady is my first lace project, I'm really proud of my work.

I just didn't do anything else than knitting. My sunflowers seem to hibernate for some more time...

Sunday I couldn't resist and ordered the book Charmed Knits by Alison Hansel - I was sooooooo much tempted through all these nice projects I've seen in Ravelry. Yesterday I got my copy and spontaneously I decided to knit 11 projects out of it... whenever this will happen.
